On February 13, 2024, a Fort St John RCMP frontline police officer conducted a proactive traffic stop where the passenger was found with a small amount of pre-packaged suspected cocaine and crack cocaine. No charges are being pursued.

A short time later it was determined that the driver and passenger were on no contact conditions and the driver had an outstanding warrant.

Fort St John RCMP frontline police officers located the vehicle once again and conducted another traffic stop. The driver was arrested on his outstanding warrant and for breaching conditions. The driver was transported to the detachment and held for court.

While being searched in police custody a small amount of suspected pre-packaged crack cocaine was once again located.

Due to the possession of suspected drugs and the driver’s actions, the driver was put through a Standard Field Sobriety Test and performed poorly. The driver received a 24-hour driving suspension, and his vehicle was impounded for 24 hours.

The driver was released by the courts on a Release Order to reattend court on February 26, 2024.
