With snow continuing to fall, with five to 10 centimetres expected by the end of Saturday, motorists are reminded to remain vigilant on the roads.

The QEII Southbound towards Calgary City limits is reported to be partly covered in snow with icy sections, while North of Airdrie heading towards Crossfield and Carstairs, similar conditions have been reported. Heading east from Airdrie towards Beiseker, road conditions are slightly worse, with drifting and blowing snow reported.

Local forecasts predict that the snow will continue until the late evening hours, stopping late at night. Temperatures are expected to remain cold, with the wind chill approaching -30 degrees on Saturday evening. Sunday will also be cold, with windchills expected to be nearing -25 in the afternoon.

On Saturday afternoon, Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a snowfall warning for Airdrie and the surrounding areas.
