An earlier collision that occurred between a semi-truck and a pickup truck, east of Airdrie near Range Road 284 has been cleared.
Earlier, police were on the scene and a portion of the highway was briefly down to one lane. Minor injuries were involved.
The collision is one of several that police and first responders dealt with throughout the day on Wednesday.
Police are continuing to caution motorists to be extremely careful on the highway, as a snowfall warning remains in place for Airdrie and the surrounding areas.
Road conditions have only slightly improved, with the QEII, southbound towards Calgary City limits reported as bare, though there are slippery sections, blowing ice and patches of black ice reported. Northbound from Airdrie, the QEII is reported to be in similar condition, however, Highway 2A towards Crossfield is still partly covered in snow.
Motorists are reminded to watch out for emergency personnel as well as snow plow operators, as snow is expected to fall into the evening, with predictions of anywhere from five to ten centimetres of snow accumulating. The snow will continue on Thursday.
