Road conditions continue to be challenging in and around Airdrie, as a snowfall warning continues.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, a long period of snowfall continues across southern Alberta with 10 to 30 centimeters of snow expected by Friday morning.

"Most areas from Banff through to the Cypress Hills have reported 10 to 20 centimetres so far, with additional amounts of 5 to 10 centimetres forecast today. The heaviest snow will taper off in the Calgary area by this afternoon."

Areas along the southern foothills are likely to see the highest snowfall totals with amounts as high as 30 centimeters.

Road conditions on the QEII towards Calgary have been reported to be partly covered in snow, with black ice and icy sections.
