Jean Kosolofski Obituary
1932 ~ 2024 (age 92)
Our dear Mom/Grandma, Jean Kosolofski, passed away peacefully at the Heritage Manor on Friday, April 19, 2024, at the age of 92.
Mom was a partner in every sense of the word with her husband, Joe, as they worked & raised their family on their farm southwest of Dodsland where they lived from 1958, until their retirement
In 2010, Mom & Dad retired from their beloved farm & community at Dodsland, & moved into their house in Kindersley where they enjoyed a slower pace of life, still keeping active with a garden in the backyard, attending Church, playing cards, & enjoying many visits with family & friends.
In 2019, Mom & Dad moved into the Caleb Apartments where they enjoyed meeting new & old friends, participated in the activities there, & enjoyed the extra care & attention of Nancy & the staff. Mom especially enjoyed the weekly bingos & card games downstairs (she had a very competitive spirit!), & even in their small apartment, she managed to set up a small quilting frame & complete two more quilts for great-grandchildren. Quilting was one of Mom’s favorite hobbies & we estimate she completed over 100 quilts in her lifetime many of which she gave to family & friends.
After Dad’s passing, Mom moved from their Caleb Apartment into the Heritage Manor & that was home to her until her passing. Mom was blessed by the visits of many family & friends throughout her time at the Manor and was deeply grateful to all who visited her there & to the nurses & staff who cared for her, always thanking them & telling them she loved them.
Mom was predeceased by an infant grandson, Cliff Kosolofski, in 1984, and by two sons, Gordon in 2011, and Al in 2021. She was also predeceased by her loving husband, Joe, in May 2021.
Mom leaves to remember her a large family – Louise (Sid) Reid, Kathy (John) Smith, Bill, Sharon (Blair) Huard, David (Frank) Friesen, Danny (Cindy), and daughters-in-law, Joanne Kosolofski, & Pam Kosolofski, 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, & 6 great-great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Adeline Gunderman, brother-in-law, Mike Kosolofski & his wife Doreen, and numerous nieces & nephews, as well as many grandchildren added through marriage, & others through their special love & care for Mom, including Vanessa Arrieche, Joanne (Ramo) Cuanan, Jean Ramo, & Elisa Ada.
The treasures Mom leaves behind aren’t trophies won or certificates earned, but rather a legacy of deep faith, a marriage that thrived for 72 years, & a large loving family. Mom & Dad were always seen together & were often referred to as “that sweet little couple”. Now they rest in peace together.
