Saskatchewan government, teachers sign deal after two years of talks
Teachers in Saskatchewan have signed a new agreement with the province after nearly two years of bargaining.
The Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation says the deal is retroactive to Sept. 1, 2023, and will see teachers get a nine per cent pay increase over three years.
It says the agreement was finalized last week after the sides agreed to language relating to the issue of class complexity.

Saskatchewan’s largest addiction treatment centre now fully open
Saskatchewan’s largest addictions treatment centre is now fully operational, with all 60 inpatient treatment spaces available to those in need of support.
Mental Health and Addictions Minister Lori Carr announced that intake for the final 40 inpatient spaces at the EHN Willowview Recovery Centre began on April 1, completing the facility’s phased opening.
April brings unpredictable weather to West Central Saskatchewan
West Central Saskatchewan residents should brace for an unpredictable April as the region transitions from winter’s chill to the first hints of spring warmth.
The month is known for its temperature swings, and this year looks no different. While stretches of mild, spring-like weather are expected, April is also notorious for delivering late-season snow and cold snaps. According to meteorologists, the province is likely to experience below-average temperatures for much of the month, with intermittent warm spells bringing temporary relief.
The Radiant POSTPONED due to unforeseen circumstances
The Kindersley and District Arts Council's highly anticipated fundraiser concert, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 5 at the Norman Ritchie Community Centre, has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. A new date and additional details will be announced as soon as they become available.
The event was set to feature local rock band The Radiant, alongside local musician Curtis Ehresman, as part of the Arts Council’s efforts to bring diverse arts programming to the community.

Echoes of the wilderness, the Wardens captivate the Leader Community Centre stage
The Leader and District Arts Council (LDAC) hosted The Wardens at the Leader Community Centre on April 1 as part of its ongoing performance season.
This concert marked the third of four shows in the current season and was part of the Spark Performance. Spark, an initiative developed by the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils, aims to foster youth engagement in the arts.
"I think everyone enjoyed the stories they had to tell," said Treena Redman, President of the Leader and District Arts Council. "The video really made you feel like you were a part of it."
Kindersley Soccer sets sights on a bigger and brighter future
The Kindersley soccer community has been growing steadily, with an enthusiastic group of players committed to both indoor and outdoor seasons. Led by head coach Kevin Codd, the adult indoor league wrapped up a successful winter season, marking a significant step forward by competing in tournaments for the first time.
