Adventure-seeker and TV host Bear Grylls opens up about the privilege of recently baptizing Russell Brand in the River Thames.
"Me, Bear Grylls, The River Thames and of course, The Holy Spirit," says Brand on Instagram after he was baptized last week.
On April 26 Brand made it official after publicly declaring on Instagram that he was excited to be baptized. The baptism happened two days later on April 28.
"The ceremony itself was incredible," says Brand in a video. "I want to thank Bear Grylls and my mate Joe, the two men that stood either side of me and flanked me for the baptism itself."
After the baptism Grylls opened up about the experience with The Daily Mail.
"Faith and spiritual moments in our lives are really personal," says Grylls. "But it is a privilege to stand beside anyone when they express a humble need for forgiveness and strength from above. Friendships when we go through tough times are worth so much."
Less than a year ago multiple accusations came out against Brand regarding sexual misconduct but Brand has repeatedly denied them all.
