A five-year-old boy is back home after a horrific collision claimed the lives of his parents and older siblings in Georgia.
43-year-old Dakari and 35-year-old Erin Mason, along with their three boys, 14-year-old Brandon, six-year-old Titus and five-year-old Noah, were on their way home from a church function on Sunday, May 19, when the crash happened
According to a report from FOX5, police say Dakari's van was travelling north on the interstate when it left the road and entered the southbound lanes, hitting two vehicles. After the crash, their van was hit by a commercial vehicle.
Dakari, Erin and Brandon were pronounced dead at the scene. Titus and Noah were taken to hospital, where Titus was taken off life support on Wednesday.
Five-year-old Noah, fortunately, survived the crash and is back at home with family.
"We are overjoyed our sweet Noah is on his way to his new home, said Noah's grandmother. "We shall never completely heal from the loss of his family and ours. But God blessed us with a five-year-old that will never allow us to slow down or wallow in our sadness."
The family continues to ask for prayer as they deal with this tragedy.
"We know there is strength in numbers. Our family will undoubtedly need prayers in the coming days, weeks, and months as we navigate the planning of multiple funerals and in dealing with such a tragic loss. We also ask for prayers for all of the other families impacted by this terrible tragedy."
A 21-year-old woman driving one of the other vehicles was also killed during the crash. She was on her way to a graduation party when the collision happened.
The family plans to plant a tree to honour her in the park she loves.
The driver of the other vehicles were also transported to hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to cover medical and other future expenses for Noah.
