Mary Banman age 86 passed away at Swift Current Hospital on June 13, 2024. Mary was the 4th oldest child out of 14 brothers and sisters; parents were John and Margaret Penner. She met John Banman in Swift Current Sask. and they were married in 1957.
Mary and family lived in Swift Current until 1961 then moved to their own farm 10 miles north of Swift Current. During the many years on the farm Mary and John raised 5 children. Survived by her 5 children. Sons: Victor Banman (Joanne) and Clinton Banman (Leanne). Daughters: Nancy Patterson (Rockne), Sherry Unger (Darrel) and Geyna Diachuk (Doug). Also 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and many more family and friends.
Mary’s retirement years were living in Calgary AB. Mary and John had the joy of travelling the world by cruise ships or motorhome for several years. They spent many winters staying in Puerto Vallarta. The summers were spent travelling and spending time with their children. The Joy of garage sales and flea markets was also a summer past time.
Mary moved back to Swift Current, Sask. in July 2023. The move brought many challenges and journeys. She was very happy to have her family and friends closer to spend her days. Her health rapidly declined the last couple months taking her life. Mary had the love of the Lord in her heart and followed Jesus her saviour. She was greatly loved and will be missed dearly.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Mary Banman (wife of the late John Banman) will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. from the Church of the Open Bible with Pastor Jay Hinds officiating.
A time for visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 19, 2024 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Warren’s Funeral Home.
The interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Donations to the Church of the Open Bible would be appreciated by the family.
