Brandon Lake and Phil Wickham among winners at 2024 BMI Christian Awards

Many Christian songwriters and music publishers were celebrated on Wednesday night at the 2024 BMI Christian Awards. 

The 25 most-performed Christian songs included, 'Fear is Not My Future,' 'God is in This Story,' 'Heart of God,' 'Hymn of Heaven,' 'Love Me Like I Am,' 'Rest on Us,' 'Who I Am' among others. 

Brandon Lake's 'Gratitude' was named the 2024 Song of the Year. The track features raw honesty written by Dante Bowe and Ben Hastings. It received nominations from the 2023 GMA Dove Awards for Song of the Year and Worship Recorded Song of the Year. 

The Songwriter of the Year award went to Phil Wickham, who was part of writing four of this year's award-winning songs which include, 'Holy Forever,' 'Hymn of Heaven,' 'Then Christ Came,' and 'This is Our God.' Wickham's songs have been streamed billions of times and has earned two number-one singles on Christian radio with his album, I Believe. 

Essential Music Publishing won Publisher of the Year with songs such as, 'Cornerstone,' 'God is in This Story,' 'Heart of God,' 'Holy Forever,' 'I Thank God,' 'I'm So Blessed,' 'Perfectly Loved,' 'Same God,' 'Thank God I Do,' 'Then Christ Came,' 'This Is Our God,' and 'Who I Am.' 

Anne Wilson took to the stage to perform a stripped-down version of 'Strong.' While Phil Wickham sang an acoustic version of 'Hymn of Heaven.'
