A rainfall warning is in place for much of east central Saskatchewan, including Humboldt, Watrous and surrounding communities.
Environment Canada advises Periods of rain will begin sometime in the late afternoon on Thursday that will impact portions of southern Saskatchewan.
General rainfall amounts will total 40 to 60 mm, but in addition to the relatively steady rain, some locations will receive heavier bursts of rainfall that will fall very quickly. Any locations impacted by these quicker impulses of rain could see rainfall totals in excess of 80 mm by the end of the system's impact.
Conditions will begin to improve as the system pulls out of the area Friday night.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Heavy rainfall in combination with other weather factors, such as hail, wind and lightning will make outdoor activities unsafe. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
