On Wednesday, July 10, the Grande Prairie Technical Search and Rescue (GPTSR) team held Swiftwater Awareness training at the 17.5 KM Canfor Bridge from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

After the training, they found that essential emergency response items had been stolen, including a swiftwater drysuit, two chest rigs, navigational gear (GPS), and other personal belongings.

"It is truly disheartening to have items stolen from an emergency response organization dedicated to saving lives. Despite this setback, we remain committed and ready to respond to any emergency situation," said Sean Mowat, Safety Director of GPTSR.

Some stolen gear was personally purchased by team members, making this loss both financial and personal. If anyone saw anything unusual in the area during the training, please contact info@tsrgp.org or the RCMP at (780) 830-5700.
