The Peace River Regional District has issued an Evacuation Alert #1 for the Tupper Creek Wildfire.

This wildfire is currently listed as Out of Control, and anticipated to spread beyond the current perimeter, or control line.

Due to the potential danger to life and health, the following area is asked to be on alert:

-198 Road and the BC Provincial border

-West to Hwy 2 and 198 Road

-Continuing west along the 198 Road to the Kiskatinaw River

-Southerly, along the Kiskatinaw River to a point due west of the intersection of the One Island Lake Road and Hwy 52E

-Easterly, to the junction of One Island Lake Road and Hwy 52E

-Continuing east to the BC Provincial border

-North along the BC Provincial border to the 198 Road

An Evacuation Alert has been issued to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary.

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation, however, you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.

This is the time to GET PREPARED to leave your home on short notice.
