It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Bert Corrins on July 16, 2024 after a lengthy illness.  Bert will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her husband, Ron Corrins; step-children Doug (Diane), Leslie, Judi (Jeff), and Marjorie (Mark) and her only surviving sibling, Vivian Gabrielson.  Bert will also be lovingly remembered by eleven step-grandchildren and 12 step-great grandchildren; along with many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.  Bert was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Condon in 2010; and her siblings, Martha Stewart, Edith Shupe, Gladys Lewis, Priscilla Shupe, Albert Riffer and Victor Riffer.

Bert married Jack Condon in 1954.  She worked at The Bay in Saskatoon and then Bert and Jack purchased the Leroy Hotel with Jack’s parents in 1963.  Together they ran the hotel until it was sold in 1978.  Bert then worked with the elderly in a nursing home in Leroy.  She was very involved in the Leroy community and they moved to Saskatoon in 2008 when Jack needed more extensive medical care.  After Jack’s passing, Bert reconnected with their lifelong friend, Ron Corrins, and they married in January of 2012.  Together, Bert and Ron built a lovely life in Swift Current.  They loved to golf, bowl, travel and spend time with their family and friends.   Bert very much enjoyed volunteering with Telemiracle and at many curling events in both Swift Current and Saskatoon.

As Bert’s chronic lung disease progressed, Ron, with the help of their family friend, Sharon, lovingly continued to care for Bert in their family home as long as possible.  However, Bert had to move into Cypress House this past spring.  The family would like to sincerely thank the medical staff and home care staff at Cypress House for their care during Bert’s short time there.

At Bert’s request, a formal funeral will not be held.  The family will hold a memorial service in Swift Current in the fall.  In lieu of flowers a donation to Telemiracle in Bert’s name would be appreciated.

Arrangements are entrusted to Warren’s Funeral Home.  For further information please call (306) 773-8831 or 1-800-267-6606, or visit our website at www.warrensfuneralhome.com and express your sympathy to family members on the tribute wall.
