Severe thunderstorm watch for Dawson Creek area

A severe thunderstorm watch as been issued for the Dawson Creek area this afternoon.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

Many regions of BC are also being impacted or likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke over the next 24-48 hours.

Smoke will be highly variable across the province. Concentrations will be higher near active fires and overnight.
