On Sunday, July 21, Prince Albert RCMP received reported a suspicious vehicle in the RM of Garden River.
Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle on Highway #302 and attempted a vehicle stop. The vehicle did not stop and fled towards Prince Albert. Officers did not pursue the vehicle due to safety reasons.
Shortly afterwards, officers located the vehicle parked on a service road. Following an investigation, three adult females and an adult male were arrested at the scene.
During a subsequent investigation, officers located and seized approximately 22 grams of MDMA and drug trafficking paraphernalia in the vehicle. Officers also located and seized approximately 155 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 6 grams of fentanyl the male attempted to hide in his pants.
Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services were also engaged to assist and located a discarded can of bear spray and a modified rifle in the ditch near the scene of the arrest.
34-year-old Brennan Sewap from Prince Albert is charged with:
one count, flight from peace officer, Section 320.17, Criminal Code;
one count, failure or refusal to comply with alcohol demand, Section 320.15(1), Criminal Code;
two counts, operation while prohibited, Section 320.18; Criminal Code;
one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(2), Criminal Code; and
three counts, possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
20-year-old Lacey Bear, 34-year-old Leigh Takakenew, 27-year-old Marlena Thomas, each from Prince Albert, are charged with:
three counts, possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and
one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(2), Criminal Code.
Brennan Sewap, Lacey Bear, Leigh Takakenew and Marlena Thomas appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on July 23, 2024
