The City of Grande Prairie is notifying motorists and commuters of a traffic flow change at the intersection of 116 Avenue and 102 Street, beginning tonight, Monday, July 29.

The project is essential for the installation of underground utilities connecting pipes to the new concrete storm vault and installing a new overflow pipe leading to a nearby ditch.

Work on this portion of the project is expected to last approximately two weeks, depending on weather conditions.

 Traffic Adjustments and Detours:

·102 Street North of 116 Avenue will be open to traffic.

·102 Street South of 116 Avenue, between 115 Avenue and 116 Avenue will be closed to traffic.

·Commuters are asked to follow detour signs around the closed section of 102 Street.

 Transit and Pedestrian Impacts:

·Route 8 of the public transit system will have some bus stop relocations. Please visit the City Transit page at [cityofgp.com/transit]cityofgp.com/transit, log into the On Demand app at gpmyride.app.ridewithvia.com, view the Where’s My Ride bus tracker, or call 311 when planning your trip.

·Pedestrians will be allowed to cross the intersection but may be limited to one side at a time.

·All are advised to obey the variable message signs displayed for safety and directional guidance.
