Ina Hattie Jean Fox, 88 years of Kyle, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully at the Kyle Health Centre on July 26, 2024.

Ina was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on August 6, 1935. Ina was the daughter of William and Helen (Hiebert) Dear.

Ina was a very active athlete and a lover of animals. One of her fondest memories was going to work out west for the Rutledge ranch in Alberta when she was 18 and bringing back as a part of her wages a horse, of which she rode home while sleeping sometimes in the ditch or getting comfort from various farm homes along the way. She had this horse for over thirty years. Ina went to work for the telephone service in Langham and transferred to Kyle.

Irene Fox was one of Ina’s favorite curling team partners who invited Ina over for a visit one day. It was there that Ina met Irene and Leslie’s oldest son, Donald Harwood Fox.

On July 19, 1959, Ina and Donald were married and they made their home in Kyle, where they farmed and raised their two children, Kipling William and Timothy Donald.

Ina enjoyed working on the farm with her young family as well as women’s curling, women’s fastball, coaching fastball and many other activities with her many friends. She and Donald were active in their community in several ways. Ina placed great value in her relationships with many lifelong friends and was always there to lend a helping hand.

Ina was predeceased by her husband Donald, her parents and her brothers; William (Ken), Jack and Wellington. She is survived by her two children; Kipling and wife Jean of Kyle, Saskatchewan and Timothy and wife Lori of Elbow, Saskatchewan, grandchildren; Jessica Lewis (Darren), great grandsons; Kaison, Rogan, Michael Fox (Ashley) of Herbert, Saskatchewan, great grandson Jameson, her sister Joyce Schury of Davidson, Saskatchewan and several nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations on behalf of Ina can be made to The Kyle and District Health Care Foundation.
