According to 511 Alberta, the road maintenance operations will impact both directions on Highway 581. One lane will be closed, and alternative traffic will be allowed. Speeds will be reduced to 30 kilometres an hour in the area. Temporary traffic signals will be installed.

Motorists should note that the road will be rough, there will be fresh oil, and no center line marking. Flag persons will be in the area, and there will be an on-site detour, so those travelling there can expect delays.

Construction work will be ongoing in the daytime and evenings, seven days a week.

Within Airdrie, motorists should be aware of ongoing road closures.

  • 24 Street North will be shut down until October 1 to accommodate the installation of a two-lane undivided paved roadway
  • Flett Drive will be closed until September 20 for the second phase of the deep utility installation.
  • Erin Drive will have a temporary lane closure until September 21 to accommodate deep utility rehabilitation.
  • Township Road 274 will be closed down from August 19 till October 2 for the Nose Creek Bridge Restoration project.
