It is with heavy hearts that the Family of Valerie Ruth Hartman announce her passing on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Valerie, age 70, passed away peacefully at the Kyle Health Centre in Kyle Saskatchewan.
Valerie was born at the Kyle/White Bear Union Hospital on December 28, 1953 to Harold and Esther Shaw. Valerie attended school at White Bear and Kyle Saskatchewan.
Valerie married Grant Hartman on September 14, 1974 at the White Bear United Church. Valerie was employed for over 36 years at the Pioneer Coop store in Kyle, Saskatchewan. She was on the Town Council for many years as well as the Museum Board. Valerie was very active in the community.
Valerie loved fishing, camping, family get togethers, bingo, and card games with friends. She also volunteered at the Kritical Stage Drama Club.
Valerie is survived by her sons; Cary of Calgary, Alberta and Bryce (Wendy) of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, grandchildren; Brandon, Kyle and Jayden, her brother Robert Shaw (Phyllis), her sisters; Cathy Dyrland (Ellert), Patsy Lockman (Larry), and many nieces and nephews. Valerie enjoyed spending time with them all. Valerie is predeceased by her husband Grant Hartman, and her parents Harold and Esther Shaw.
Valerie will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family is especially grateful to the staff at the Kyle Health Centre for the care given to Valerie.
At Valerie’s request, there will be no formal funeral service. In Valerie’s memory, memorial Donations may be made to the Kyle Health Activity Centre (Wandering Garden). Make the cheques payable to:
