It is with sadness and broken hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Kennedy Maxwell Elk July 28, 2024 resident of Dakota Tipi First Nation. Age 36.

Fond memories and thoughts of him will forever be with us, as he starts his journey to the Spirit World.

Mother Lorraine Elk, (Denis) Father Ashley Pashe, sister Wenona,(Michell), Leah Tannee and brother Warren , pre deceased sister Angel Elk, daughter Cherish, pre deceased Grand parents ; Gloria Smoke, William Smoke, Elsie Pashe, Michael Pashe. He leaves behind his most Loved friend Star Anderson, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces.

Kennedy grew up on the reserve neighbouring Portage La Prairie. He was the youngest of four siblings. As the little brother, He was a little mischievous, however always ready to help out. Kennedy had a special bond with his mother due to sincerity and gentleman ways. He was ready to step up when a situation arises. Kennedy was part owner/ operator of a gas bar business ,also worked for community within. Kennedy had a love for basketball at a young age and grew to be a great athlete. He also kept fit by working out at the gym. Concerts, events and music were always on his list.

Many people see him as an outgoing, generous, caring, good looking man with a touch of class and shyness. Gatherings amongst friends, cousins and family was a necessity to him.

Traditional Feast, August 8, 2024 at 12 noon at Dakota Tipi Community Hall 443 Gambler Rd Dakota Tipi, Manitoba with viewing starting at 4pm on August 7th.

Burial will be at Old Sioux Village Cemetery, Dakota Tipi First Nation.
