The City of Grande Prairie is conducting essential culvert replacement work on Highway 670, necessitating a road closure between Range Road 55 and Range Road 54. The closure begins on August 7 at 5 a.m. and is expected to conclude by August 9 at 10 p.m.
This work is critical to address a culvert failure, which requires immediate attention to ensure the safety and functionality of the roadway. Local traffic will still have access to properties just past Range Road 55. Detours have been established, and electronic message boards have been installed to inform drivers.
Detour Information:
- Eastbound traffic on Highway 670:
- Detour north on Range Road 55
- Return to Highway 670 via Range Road 54 off Highway 43
- Westbound traffic on Highway 670:
- Detour north on Range Road 54 to Highway 43
- Return to Highway 670 via Range Road 55
Heavy truck traffic is advised to use Highway 43 during this time to minimize disruptions. There will be no impact on transit services or pedestrian pathways.
