Hello and welcome to another Made in Manitoba, as we welcome back the Winnipeg based Dust Rhinos.

A thirty year career of entertaining audiences across the country with Celtic music continues for the band and its latest album release, a self titled one which includes eleven original songs. This is also the first Dust Rhinos album to feature the newest members of the group; fiddle player Ivanka Watkin and Mandolin player Ryan Spracklin. What's interesting about that, is the duo joined the group six years ago.

We'll hear about the break between this album and the previous, and how it actually lent itself to the group coming up with something almost entirely different from what was originally planned when the Dust Rhinos were originally planning on recording their next album.

Band founder leader Blair McEvoy is our guest on Made in Manitoba.

He admits the album is somewhat of a departure from the group's previous nine with more personal reflection, and a tremendous amount of heart and soul poured into it. That's not to say it isn't still a Celtic music album full of fun-loving songs, because it is. Rather, Blair is hopeful fans will take more time to think about what they are singing in the lyrics.
