Welcome to another Made in Manitoba, and an episode we hope will have you toe-tapping, and maybe even doing a jig, by the end of it. Tonight we're featuring The Red River Ramblers. Founded in 2019 by Douglas Richard Sinclair, the group performs Métis fiddle music rooted in a deep respect for the Métis fiddle tradition, but burning a new path for the genre. Douglas is a Métis Nation citizen, registered with the Manitoba Metis Federation.

The Red River Ramblers latest album is titled "Reverie", and features eight songs... all written, arranged and performed by Douglas alongside old-time music veterans John Showman on fiddle and James McEleny on bass who were hired to join him to record the project.

This weekend, on Made in Manitoba, Douglas Richard Sinclair is our guest as we explore the music of "Reverie", how he came to traditional Métis fiddle music, what he feels makes the genre what it is and how his style is pushing the music forward.
