On August 7th, just before midnight, the Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Team was on routine patrol when they noticed a suspicious vehicle improperly parked, occupying two spaces, including a disability spot. Officers initiated a traffic stop, which led to a significant discovery.

During their investigation, officers uncovered a substantial quantity of drugs, including 544 grams of methamphetamine and 25 grams of cocaine, along with various items consistent with drug trafficking. Additionally, weapons, including a stun gun, were found in the vehicle.

As a result, 32-year-old Callie Evenson of Beaverlodge has been charged with multiple serious offenses. These include possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and failing to comply with release order conditions.

Evenson was remanded into custody following a court appearance and is scheduled to appear again on August 26th at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie.
