Christian author Grace Fox recently released her newest book that talks about the power in the different names of God.
"It's got seven names of God, the Hebrew names, and doing a deep dive into, where did they first show up in the Old Testament and what was the context," says Fox. "I described a story from my own life, how I've experienced God by that name, and then how did Jesus fulfill that name to show that He was truly God."
The book, Names of God: Living Unfraid, is best read as a group, according to Fox.
"People will learn so much more if they do it as a group. Every chapter has a QR code at the end so that readers can access 15 minutes of bonus teaching that's brand new information. The more we understand who God is, the better we are able to live unafraid."
Fox and her husband have been missionaries since they were first married, starting their adult life in Nepal. Fox gave birth to a baby girl, her second child, with special needs, and almost had nothing to her name.
"We had a baby going into the NICU ward with no health care insurance, no job, no car, nothing. We'd been doing missions for three years and we were making $70/month. It was the perfect storm so I get what fear is. God met me in that moment by reminding me that He'd be faithful no matter what happened."
Fox says that since she was in grade 6 she felt God calling her into missions, which has proved to be an unconventional life. Today, Fox is a mother of three married adult children and a grandma to 11, living on a boat off the coast of B.C. with her husband. Fox and her husband Gene co-direct a ministry called International Messengers Canada, which sends and supports roughly 300 missionaries.
