On Saturday, Kamsack RCMP along with local EMS and STARS responded to a report of a collision involving four pedestrians, three children and one adult on Key First Nation. 

 A female child under the age of 12 was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.  

Two other children, both females under the age of 12 were transported to hospital with serious injuries.  

The adult male suffered non-life-threatening injuries.  

62-year-old Kenward Strongquill from the Keeseekoose First Nation was arrested and faces several charges. 

  • one count, failure to stop after accident resulting in death, Section 320.16(3), Criminal Code: 

  • three counts, operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration greater than 80 mg causing bodily harm, Section 320.14(2), Criminal Code; and 

  • one count, operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration greater than 80 mg causing death, Section 320.14(2), Criminal Code   

Strongquill is scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Thursday. 

Kamsack RCMP, Saskatoon RCMP General Investigation Section and Regina General Investigation Section are continuing to investigate along with assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist as well as Yorkton and Saskatoon Forensic Identification Sections.
