Strathmore braces for intense rainfall and wind gusts

A special weather statement has been issued for Strathmore and the surrounding area.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected to begin on Tuesday (Aug. 27) night.

The rain will intensify overnight and continue throughout Wednesday, with 40 mm expected by Wednesday evening.

Strong winds will also develop on Wednesday, with gusts of 80 km/h expected to hit the area before weakening later in the afternoon.
