With a brand-new school year beginning this year, our series at the new principals inside of the Horizon School Division continues. 

 

Kristen Weiman is the new Principal of Bruno Central School. She officially began her new role last week.  

Weiman spent 16 years in the Saskatoon Public Division, focusing on teaching physical education to students from kindergarten to Grade 8. 

She has accumulated diverse experiences in behavior programs such as Balance and the Autism Support Program, catering to students with unique needs. 

Working with a diverse population of students, each with complex needs, has equipped Weiman has equipped her with the skills and insights necessary to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. 

She also oversaw numerous athletic departments in numerous schools. 

In November 2023, Weiman transitioned to the Horizon School Division, assuming the role of the LRT teacher in Lake Lenore.  

Outside of her professional endeavors, Weiman enjoys spending time with her husband Pat and their four children - Kinley, John, Kabri, and Patrick. She actively volunteers in programs that her children participate in.  

 

The new principal at St. Brieux School is Michelle Daubenfeld.  

In 1995, Daubenfeld convocated with her Bachelor of Education with distinction. She began her teaching career at Naicam School followed by teaching positions in Rose Valley School and Three Lakes School. 

Daubenfeld began teaching at St. Brieux School in 2005 as a Middle Years teacher and a Learning Resources teacher. During that time, she completed her Special Education Teacher Qualification through Saskatchewan's Ministry of Education.  

Over the last two years, Daubenfeld was the vice-principal at St. Brieux School. She is involved with several extra-curricular activities at the school including basketball, volleyball, golf, yearbook, and HEADSTRONG. 

Aside from work, Daubenfeld enjoys reading, traveling, photography, fishing, camping, and gardening. Michelle currently lives on a farm outside of St. Brieux with her husband Chad, and her three children Wil, Claire, and Paige
