Crystal Schindel is the new principal at Englefeld School. Schindel has 12 years' experience teaching in both the Horizon and Living Sky School Divisions.
Along with her partner, Troy, they have three grown children, Austin, Merrick, and Kami.
Schindel is looking forward to returning to her hockey team and is excited about catching up with her friends and colleagues in Horizon. She hopes that her time away from Horizon will help her guide in her new role as Principal in Englefeld.
The new principal at Punnichy High School is Heidi Linford.
After she obtained her Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina, she was a classroom teacher at Muskowekwan School on Muskowekwan First Nation. Linford also continued her educational journey and worked on getting her Certificate of Extended Studies in Inclusive Education from the University of Regina.
In 2015, Linford made the move to the Horizon School Division as she started teaching Grade 2 at the George Gordon Education Center.
Over the last six years, she has been an instructional coach with the Horizon Learning Team. This coaching position has allowed her to support many of our littlest learners, their teachers, and families in supplementing all developmental domains.
Linford completed her Master of Education in 2022 from the University of Saskatchewan focusing on Curriculum Studies. Most recently, Heidi has supported delivering curriculum to Early Childhood Education students with Carlton Trail College, and programming with The Ministry of Education.
Heidi and her husband Duane have two grown children and reside in Semans and are proud to be involved in their century family farm, having 3 generations currently farming together. She is active in many organizations in Semans, including the Gym Committee and has been First Responder for 21 years.
When she is not in the classroom, Heidi enjoys spending time with her family, curling, playing pickleball, snowmobiling and travelling. In the summer, you will find Heidi and her family enjoying their seasonal site at Leslie Beach, on Fishing Lake.
