The City of Grande Prairie continues the 2024 Storm Drainage Rehabilitation Program, enhancing stormwater infrastructure and public trails around Muskoseepi Park.

This stage of the program, beginning September 11, includes significant upgrades across three primary areas, in sequence:

1. Outfall and Muskoseepi Trail between 99 and 96 Avenue
The scope of work includes the removal of the existing storm outfall, storm manhole, and a portion of the storm sewer. New installations will feature a storm outfall, storm manhole, storm line, and a new inlet, along with erosion control measures like creek bank armouring. Repairs to the existing trail and landscaping are also planned. Temporary trail closures are expected during construction.

2. Muskoseepi Trail between 89 and 87 Avenue
The existing trail structure will be removed, and a new trail will be constructed further from the creek bank to enhance long-term sustainability. This project segment also includes re-establishing the landscaping. Short-duration trail closures are expected.

3. Heritage Museum Outfall
This project involves removing the existing storm outfall and abandoning a damaged storm line beneath the museum structure. New storm lines from the end of 102 Avenue and near the museum to a new storm outfall north of the museum will be installed. The work includes necessary repairs to surface infrastructure and landscaping enhancements.
