Hinton RCMP are seeking any witnesses to a hit and run that took place on Aug. 15, 2024, at approximately 6:27 am on West River Road, in Hinton. RCMP responded to a complaint on that day of a hit and run involving a Dodge Dakota and a pedestrian who at the time was jogging on the roadside in the oncoming lane.
After hitting the pedestrian, the suspect vehicle then sped off and was last seen driving east on Switzer Drive. The suspect vehicle is described as:
- Dodge Dakota, quad cab (year 2000-2001)
- Rust patches on the passenger side near the rear and the front tires
- Tinted rear windows
- Possible rack in the bed of the truck.
In addition to any eyewitnesses, RCMP are urging anyone who may have dashcam footage recorded on Aug. 15th, 2024, between 6:20 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. in the area of West River Road or Switzer Drive in Hinton to come forward and contact the police.
