Christian artist Ryan Stevenson is in mourning following the passing of his father a week ago.

Last week, Stevenson's team took to social media to cancel his shows, allowing him to return to Oregon to be with his family.

"Every son wants to know that his dad is proud of him.…It’s a quiet, internal driving force that he may or may not admit…This week, at my dad's house, looking through his things- just about any question I ever had about how my father felt about me was answered, and I got to personally discover it," said Stevenson in a post on Instagram. "I got to see what my father collected and cherished- and what I found tucked away, kept close to his heart was anything to do with ME, his son…"

He says he's celebrating with him; thankful he's gone home to be with his mother and heavenly father; thankful he's no longer suffering from decay and a debilitating disease.

Steven's mother passed away over a decade ago. In 2021, in collaboration with Vince Gill and Amy Grant, Stevenson released 'When We Fall Apart' which was inspired by the last conversation he had with his mom before her untimely death.

"Although my heart has a sadness and numbness I can’t explain, there’s been an equally unforeseen bout of healing."

Stevenson is thankful to everyone who has reached out to him and sent him messages. He says he is overwhelmed at how much support he has received.

Ryan is currently in the middle of his Gospel Nights Tour which has dates scheduled until the end of October.
