Friedensfeld Community Centre is asking people to put away their baseball gloves and bring out their golf clubs.

Bryan Gerbrandt, Friedensfeld Community Centre board member says they are hosting a golf tournament fundraiser on Saturday, September 14 at the Oakwood Gold Course.

“We're going to have prizes, longest drive, closest to the pin, also $10,000 hole-in-one on hole 6. And also a Friedensfeld cooked meal, so I'm quite excited to see some new faces, different faces other than the slow pitch world at Friedensfeld Park. It's this Saturday and just really excited to get out.”

He shares they are trying something new with the golf tournament and hopes that everyone will enjoy it.

“Friedensfeld is always looking at ways to fundraise money or to gain money to better the hall, better the park, pay off some of the bills, that sort of thing, just like any other organization.”

Gerbrandt says that he is excited to see everyone out on the course.

“The main thing Friedensfeld always looks forward to is bringing the community together, and they've been doing it for 50-plus years now. So, this is just another way to get people out, fundraise some money, have a lot of fun, and show people what Friedensfeld can do with a hot cooked meal.”

Golfers can expect a 4-person Texas Scramble with prizes and games throughout the course.

He says to contact Dayna at 204-392-8454 with any questions about the fundraiser.
