Outdoor water restrictions will be lifted on Monday (Sept. 23).

That's according to the City of Calgary. Staff with the city say construction on the Bearspaw South Feeder Main will be finished this weekend.

The Town of Strathmore receives its water supply directly from Calgary. This means that outdoor watering will be allowed in the town as they have been following the city's lead since the initial pipeline break happened in June.

The total cost to the city for the initial feeder main break plus the five hotspots is estimated to be around $25 million.

"We're compiling what the costs are to repair these 21 segments as well as the two segments that we still have to repair near Crowchild Trail coming up," says Michael Thompson, general manager of infrastructure services with the city.

Thompson says those numbers will be shared by the city in the next few days.
