A Calgary woman is now a millionaire thanks to a lucky lottery ticket.
Josephine Leduc bought the winning ticket at a Shell gas station in Brooks at 550 Cassils Road West.
“I checked my ticket on the Lotto Spot app and thought I won $1,000,” she said. “I checked the ticket again and thought it was $10,000.”
“My husband told me to count the zeroes,” she laughed. “Unbelievable. It’s just unbelievable.”
According to a news release from the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, Leduc plans to use the money to help her family.
“We’re going to put aside some money for our child,” she explains. “And share some of the money with our family.”
Leduc says she will invest the rest and go traveling.
The WCLC mentions Leduc won the money on the July 17 Gold Ball draw with number 0760509-01, which was a white ball.
