The Hanover Kickers game against AK Academy was rained out Monday night and will not be played. The game had no bearing on the standings. The Kickers, who finished in last place in the Manitoba Major Soccer League's 1st Division with a record of one win, four draws and 13 losses totaling seven points, will be relegated to the 2nd Division next season. 
 

Avery Laliberte has committed to play at Northern Michigan University. The 17-year-old from Lorette is fresh off his rookie season in the MJHL where he scored two goals and 18 assists in 53 games. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defender also suited up in four playoff games for the Nighthawks. The Wildcats play NCAA Division 1 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.


The Winnipeg Jets wrapped up the 2024 Young Stars Classic with a 2-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers in Penticton, B.C. Daniel Torgersson and Henri Nikkanen scored for the Jets while Thomas Milic and Dom DiVincentiis combined to stop all 27 Oilers shots for the shutout. Winnipeg recorded two wins and one loss at the Young Stars Classic. 


The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced the signing of quarterbacks Jake Dolegala and Bryan Scott. Both players have been added to the practice roster. Dolegala was released by the B.C. Lions earlier this season. The quarterback has spent the last three seasons in the CFL, two with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and this year with the Lions. Dolegala has appeared in 24 CFL games, starting in 11, and has thrown for 2,968 yards on 246 completions for 12 touchdowns, while rushing for 112 yards and one touchdown. Scott was a member of the Toronto Argonauts, dressing for all 18 games in 2023 and all nine games in 2024 before his release. Back-up quarterback Chris Streveler suffered a knee injury in the Banjo Bowl against the Roughriders and is out for the season. The Blue Bombers also released American receiver Josh Johnson. Winnipeg (7-6) had the bye in week 15 and will face the Elks in Edmonton on Saturday. 


Winnipeg Goldeyes General Manager Andrew Collier has been named American Association Executive of the Year. The 2024 season marks Collier’s 23rd as the club’s General Manager. He previously won the award in 2014 in the American Association and 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2009 in the Northern League. Collier was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball of Fame as a Builder in 2018. After graduating from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce, Collier joined the Goldeyes’ ticket department during the team’s inaugural season in 1994. Collier gradually climbed the front office ladder before reaching his current position in December 2001. He is also the Treasurer and an original board member of the Winnipeg Goldeyes Field of Dreams Foundation. Established in 1995, the foundation has donated close than three million dollars to children’s charities in Manitoba since its inception. Off the field in 2024 the Goldeyes drew an average 3,714 fans to Blue Cross Park, erected a spectacular new high-definition video board, and constructed two new hospitality spaces in left field.

Colwyn Abgrall finished tied for 13th at the PGA Assistants' Championship of Canada in Langley B.C. The 2019 Manitoba Amateur Golfer of the Year will join Clayton Dreger of Off the Tee which airs Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m. on AM 1250 Radio.
