Chestermere firefighters seek community support for food drive

Staff from the Chestermere Professional Firefighters Association are looking for help for an upcoming food drive.

Donation bags will be dropped off on doorsteps in Chestermere on September 21 and September 22.

Items needed:

• Canned fruit and stew/chili.
• Dry soup.
• Soda crackers.
• Pancake mix/syrup.
• Black beans.
• Salad dressing.
• Sidekicks.
• Canned mixed vegetables.
• Mushroom soup.

Once you've filled your bag set it on your porch and a volunteer from the fire department will pick it up on Saturday (Sept. 28).

"We will be hosting a food drive at No Frills on September 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. where all of the donations will be collected and taken to the Food Bank," says a Facebook post from the firefighter's association.

Donations can also be dropped off at the Chestermere Firehall until the day of pickup.
