The Moose Jaw Warriors making some roster moves in preparation for the regular season which starts this weekend.
The Warriors re-assigned 16-year-old forwards Carson Deichert and Tyson Schamehorn to their respective U18 clubs.
Deichert, a third round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft, will join the Moose Jaw U18 AAA Warriors.
The Warriors now have 13 forwards, eight defencemen and three goaltenders on the roster, including four players away at NHL training camps.
Moose Jaw opens the regular season Friday when they face-off with the Wheat Kings in Brandon. The home opener is set for Saturday against the Prince Albert Raiders.
Former Warriors star Cody Beach has been promoted to a full-time referee by the National Hockey League.
The 32-year-old made his NHL debut in April of 2022, and has officiated 64 regular season games.
Beach retired as a player in 2015 after spending several seasons in the ECHL and AHL.
The Winmar AAA Warriors fell to the Pat Canadians in Regina, 7-3 last night. The AAA's will be back in action at the Moose Jaw Events Centre this Friday against the Swift Current Legionnaires.
In Senior Boys volleyball, Central beat Vanier 3 games to 1, and Cornerstone beat Peacock 3-2
On the Senior Girls side, Vanier got a 3-1 win over Central, and it was Peacock over Cornerstone 3-1.
