Trusted care with a personal touch: TLC Pharmacy marks over a decade of service
Since opening its doors on August 28, 2012, TLC Pharmacy has become a staple in the Town 'n' Country Mall community. But for many of their customers, the trust and relationships go back even further. Dustin and Theresa Funk, both experienced pharmacists, brought with them years of local experience and familiar faces from their time at Zellers. “We had a whole load of customers come the very first day,” he says. “There was no slow start. People knew us, and they followed us here.”
More than just prescriptions
Experienced water-hauling company serves area ranchers and energy industry
Miles Petersen knows these hot, dry weeks of summer can take a toll on Saskatchewan’s ag sector.
“It’s a very stressful time of year,” he says. “I want to help out with farmers and ranchers who are lacking water in their dugouts for their cattle.”
Miles Petersen, the owner-operator of MJ Petersen Transport based in Mortlach and Kindersley , has largely built his business by hauling water for oilfield service providers. The energy industry remains key to his operation, though he sees expansion potential – and a noticeable need – for his services among area producers.
Take 5 - Reminder about new City Hall hours
Rob Carney - I know you want to remind our listeners about the hours at Moose Jaw City Hall.
Maryse Carmichael - City Hall is now open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for anything that you need. Of course, there's lots online and I know a lot of our residents want to do their business online, which works if you want it.
Take 5 - Recreation opportunities offered by the City of Moose Jaw
Rob Carney - Let's talk about the Student Summer Pass, it's up for purchase right now and it's a fantastic deal for youth in Moose Jaw ages 13 to 17.
Maryse Carmichael - Yes, it's our transit pass and recreation pass, both of them combined. So, for $95 plus tax you can have these two passes from July 1 until August 31.
Take 5 - Pop-up Patios
Rob Carney - We have a number of establishments in Moose Jaw that have established patios that they keep open, in some cases year-round. But we've got some pop-up patios downtown too. I look at Mitsu Sweet Cafe and I look at the Mad Greek that just it adds to the ambience, doesn't it?
Maryse Carmichael - It does add to it. I was looking at it during Sidewalk Days. It’s fun to be able to be outside during Sidewalk Days, but now you can do it for longer during the summer.
Take 5 - Thank you to the Downtown Moose Jaw Association
Rob Carney - Downtown Moose Jaw’s sparkling, thanks in large part to the Downtown Moose Jaw Association. Tell us that story.
Maryse Carmichael - Yes, something new this year, is that the Downtown Moose Jaw Association is working with some folks that are in the city to beautify and clean up our downtown.
Take 5 - Festival of Words
Rob Carney - Next up on the agenda, the Saskatchewan Festival of Words, a wonderful event that will draw hundreds more tourists to the city.
Maryse Carmichael - (It brings in a) totally different group of people. I remember last summer being at one of our great restaurants in town and talking to some tourists that were there for Festival of Words coming from BC.
Take 5 - Shania Twain, Sidewalk Days
Rob Carney - It's another edition of Take 5 with Carney and Carmichael, featuring Moose Jaw city manager Maurice Carmichael. Today we're talking about tourism.
It's peak tourism season in Moose Jaw, and what a month it's been so far Maryse, I mean, we had Sidewalk Days, and then we had Shania Twain right on the heels of Sidewalk Days.
You checked out Sidewalk Days and you checked out Shania Twain. Memorable, huh?
Take 5 - Safe Routes Program now complete
Rob Carney - One more thing I want to talk about is that the Safe Routes Program is complete. All the signage is up and now it's not just our school zones with 30 kilometer an hour speed limits, but all of our playground zones as well.
Maryse Carmichael - All the changes have been made, so be careful when you drive; it might be in your neighborhood.

NOVUS Glass has a long-standing reputation as a pioneer in the auto glass industry.
