MADD Canada is set to honour Saskatchewan police officers for their exceptional efforts in preventing impaired driving and ensuring road safety at special events in Saskatoon and Regina. These officers will be recognized for their dedication to keeping communities safe from impaired drivers, with awards based on the number of charges laid in the past year.

The event marks the 6th anniversary of the MADD Canada Van de Vorst Family Award, named in memory of Jordan and Chanda Van de Vorst and their children, Kamryn and Miguire, who were tragically killed by an impaired driver in 2016.

Officers will receive the Silver, Gold, or Platinum Challenge Coin and certificates based on the number of impaired driving charges they laid in the last year. The Silver Coin is awarded to those who charged between 8 and 16 impaired drivers, the Gold Coin to those with 17 or more charges, and the Platinum Award to officers who removed 40 or more impaired drivers from the roads.
