New sites for a high school and recreation centre in Chestermere were approved on Monday.
During a Chestermere City Council meeting, two reports were brought forward by city administration, and both were given the green light by council.
The lands are located in Dawson's Landing.
"We can now say that we have a site that's ready to go," says Mayor Shannon Dean.
According to the city, there is no financial cost to residents to build the 900-student high school. This means there is an existing 13.09 acres left for a new recreation centre.
"It's not a burden on the Chestermere community or any of the individuals," added councillor Kiran Randhawa.
