It's been a golden start to the regular season for theĀ Agra Risk Wheatland Kings.

In their first game against the Mountain View Colts on Friday (Sept. 20), the Kings shutout the Colts 2-0.

Following the first game, the Kings had their home opener on Saturday, which featured a tailgate party along with live music from the band Locals. Origin Brewing was also at the tailgate presenting their new "Lucky Shot Lager", which features the Kings' logo.

The band Locals performed at the home opener tailgate party.

"It always feels special to be back home in the Family Centre," said Cody Holdaway, general manager for the Kings. "The Kings probably have one of the best fan supports in the Heritage Junior Hockey League. 450 people isn't an abnormal crowd for us."

The Kings faced off against the High River Flyers in the home opener, which ended with the Kings winning 4-3.

"I believe this is the first time the team has won back-to-back opening games since 2014," added Holdaway. "I'm pretty excited to see how this season continues to progress. The tone in the locker room is different than it's been in past years."

The Kings are now on a week-long break, with their next game in Ponoka on September 28 against the Stampeders.
