The town of Leader issued a precautionary boil water advisory on Monday night.
According to the town's Facebook page, a major pipe failure at the water treatment plant is causing the water to be distributed from the clear well.
"This is a precaution being taken as this water does not get the same amount of time with the chlorine as it would from the storage tank," Leader's Facebook post said.
Saskatchewan's Water Security Agency recommends drinking water to be boiled for at least one minute before consumption.
