The Town of Strathmore has released a public survey about the future design of Maplewood Drive.
According to the town's website, aging trees were removed along the street in May to prepare for infrastructure work in 2025.
"This work involves connecting new water mains along Centennial Drive and upgrading the existing water main on Maplewood Drive as part of the Town’s Master Water Servicing Study," wrote the town. "The improvements aim to increase waterline capacity, maintain service levels, and provide sufficient fire flow."
Following the infrastructure work, the town will refresh the landscape in the area while also adding a boulevard expansion and more space for pedestrians.
According to the town, there are three proposals for Maplewood Drive's design, each with slight variations. These different designs are structured around which plans will be placed on the road, including Blue Oat Grass and White Spotted Nettle among other plants and trees.
Results from the survey will be reviewed along with input from the town's Horticulturalist and Arborist to decide on the road's final design.
Anyone interested in taking the survey can have their say on the town's website.
