The Strathmore Soccer Association is looking for young players interested in joining their teams.
Registration has been open since September 18, with the group looking for players born between 2013 and 2015 to round out their roster.
"We've had a bit of growth this season, so we're adding a sixth club team, which is the most teams we've had historically," said Ryan Parkins, tech director with the organization. "We'd like the teams to have more subs on the bench to ensure everybody gets the right amount of playing time. Not too much, and not too little."
Although the team practices in Strathmore, many of their games throughout the season will take place in Calgary. According to Parkins, the only things players need are shin guards and soccer shoes.
"Kids that are engaged in physical activity tend to be less prone to getting into trouble," added Parkins. "It's also a great way to start understanding how to work in a team environment, and they also make connections that last them a lifetime."
There are also spots open for other teams, including a men's adult indoor team.
Those interested in registering can do so on the organization's website.
