Police presence has ended in Fishing Lake First Nation

A police incident has ended on the Fishing Lake First Nation, although Saskatchewan RCMP are still asking the public to stay away from the area where police are present. 

In a news release, Sask. RCMP said there is no further risk to the public. 

Earlier in the day, RCMP investigators received information that Joseph “Joey” Desjarlais was in the area.  

The 34-year-old is charged for series of robberies in east central Saskatchewan, September 8th in Wadena, September 16th in Melfort and September 22nd in Yorkton. 

RCMP said they will be providing an update on today's situation.
