The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams seized more than half a million dollars in drugs, and cash after searching two Calgary homes.
According to a news release, five handguns were also taken.
Twenty-eight-year-old Huan Cao is facing multiple drug and weapons charges.
The organized crime team with ALERT says they searched the two homes in August with help from the Calgary Police Service and RCMP.
Staff with ALERT added that they also found cocaine and methamphetamine. They said one of the homes in the Beltline was being used to process crack cocaine.
“There’s a clear risk to neighbourhoods when drugs and firearms are present. ALERT works collaboratively with our partners to undermine these complex organized crime thefts,” said Acting Staff Sergeant Shelby Stewart, ALERT.
