The Aquatera Outdoor Pool has concluded another splashing good season and is now closed until next summer.
The Here Comes Summer event kicked off the outdoor pool season on June 7 with free public swimming sponsored by Aquatera Utilities Inc., a community barbecue, outdoor games and roller skating demonstrations.
The Aquatera Outdoor Pool made waves this summer with exciting new offerings including Friday theme nights, $2 youth night, aquatics classes, Grande Access pass holder night, evening swim lessons and private facility rentals.
“The Aquatera Outdoor Pool is a focal location for our community to enjoy summer fun and make memories every year,” said Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “Thanks to City staff for their hard work keeping the Aquatera Outdoor Pool open for as long as possible so visitors had swimming opportunities in the City during the Eastlink Centre’s annual aquatics maintenance shutdown.”
Approximately 19,348 visitors enjoyed the outdoor pool this summer, including 110 community and school bookings
The Aquatera Outdoor Pool also hosted three free community swim events with over 1,700 visitors including Canada Day celebrations and a sponsored swim from Ortho 101.
The Eastlink Centre aquatics re-opens on Saturday, September 28 following the maintenance shutdown.
