Marika Siewert took home the Spiritual Artist of the Year award at the Western Canadian Music Awards during BreakOut West this past weekend in Saskatoon, Sask.
Following the win, Siewert shared her gratitude on Instagram: "Thank you BreakOut West for the recognition and to all the nominees in this category especially my partners in all the creative craziness these days 😂 @briandoerksen & @joyceoftheshiningrose who led the way for all of us ❤️. Always special to be recognized by our music peers."
BreakOut West is an annual event that includes a music development conference and a multi-genre music festival, hosted by the Western Canadian Music Alliance. This year’s festival took place from September 25–29 in Saskatoon.
Other nominees were, Anastasya Lea, Brian Doerksen, Cynthia Lok, and Stirling John.
